Goole Fields windfarm opens

Last month, the RWE Innogy UK opened its £45 million Goole Fields 1 Wind Farm in East Riding, Yorkshire. The opening was attended by 60 community members and business representatives. It included a visit to the 16 turbine strong wind farm. The farm has a capacity of 32.8 megawatts.

The Goole Fields Wind Farm has the potential of making a significant contribution to reducing the climate change impact and securing energy supply. It is also expected to meet demands of up to 18,200 UK households each year.

The anticipated live date is in the autumn this year.

Alongside the wind farm will be the Goole Fields Wind Farm Community Fund. The Fund will invest approximately £1.3 million over the operation life of the Farm.

Tim Daldry, RWE Innogy UK Project Manager said:

“Goole Fields Wind Farm is testimony to everybody involved, and will create a cleaner energy legacy for the area by generating home grown electricity from the wind for thousands of homes.”
