I'm buying Green electricity, does that mean it's more expensive?
No, it may surprise you to learn that we set our Pale Green
tariff to be the same as the regional electricity supplier. And for the average
household on our Deep Green tariff, the difference is
likely to be 50p a week- if that. So being green doesn't have to mean spending
more!

What are the different tariffs you offer?
We offer two tariffs designed to give people a choice:

Pale Green- 100% Green electricity. This tariff is made
up of renewable and green electricity, and it's competitively priced.
This is the one you'll be automatically set up on as a new customer with us.

Deep Green- 100% Renewable electricity. We like to call
this the very best you can do for the planet. The electricity is sourced from free
falling water, wind, biomass, solar and energy from waste.
Q Who are Green Energy UK?
We're a small independent electricity supplier specialising in green and renewable
energy. All of the electricity we sell is from green, low-carbon sources. This means
our energy is greener and more sustainable than traditional fossil-fuel based tariffs.

What can I expect as a customer?
Of course everyone says that customer service is high on their agendas- but we really
mean it! When you ring us in office hours a real person will answer the phone. No
push button options or call centres that pass you from department to department!
What's more, we regularly review your account to ensure you're only paying
for what you're using.

Customer Shares
Rather uniquely for an electricity company, we offer the opportunity to share in
the ownership of the business for free. When we started, we felt this was a business
that customers shouldn't just hand over money to, but one in which they should
be able to express their views and be heard.
Of course not everyone wants to come to our AGM but the option is there for you
to have a say in the running of the business. We don't spend heavily on advertising
and expensive sponsorship campaigns to reach new customers- in fact our business
has grown through word of mouth recommendation. People like us so much they just
want to tell their friends!

How do I pay?
The easiest and most hassle-free way of paying for your bills is by Direct Debit.
We offer both variable and fixed monthly Direct Debits. Give us a ring on
0800 783 8851 if you'd like to discuss which would be best for you.
Q How will you work out my bills?
We have regular billing cycles, and like any other electricity company we send readers
out regularly to your property. However, in order to ensure billing is as accurate
as possible we also encourage you to send us readings as often as you like. You
can do this by calling us on 0800 783 8851, emailing us at readings@greenenergyuk.com

How do I read my meter?
Digital single register meter
Write the numbers down as you see them from left to right ignoring the figure furthest
to the right marked 0.1 in the red section.
Digital dual register meter
The upper register is the off-peak or night register and the lower is your normal-rate
day meter. Record the numbers from left to right ignoring the final figure marked
0.1
Dial meter
Read the dials from left to right, ignoring the dial marked 1/10. When the pointer
is between two numbers, always note down the lower number, for example, if it is
between 9 and 0, write down 9.
Q I've already asked my old supplier to supply me here too- how
do I stay with Green Energy UK?
This shouldn't be a problem, but get in touch with us as soon as convenient
